How long is the flight from Cairo to Luxor?

The flight is approximately 1 hour. Taking a day trip by air is the best way to avoid the 9-hour drive, giving you maximum time to explore the Valley of the Kings and Karnak without the exhaustion of long-distance road travel.

What is the difference between the East and West Bank?

Ancient Thebes was divided by the Nile: The West Bank (City of the Dead) contains the Valley of the Kings and Mortuary Temples. The East Bank (City of the Living) houses the monumental Karnak and Luxor Temples. Our tour covers both banks in one day.

Can I visit Tutankhamun's tomb and how much is it?

Yes, entry to the Tomb of Tutankhamun (KV62) requires an additional ticket (approx. 700 EGP). Your guide will help you purchase this at the main gate. It is the only tomb where the Pharaoh's actual mummy is still on display.

Are there photography restrictions inside the tombs?

As of 2026, mobile phone photography is free in most tombs (excluding Tutankhamun and Seti I). Flash is strictly prohibited. Professional DSLR cameras may still require a dedicated permit. This allows you to capture the stunning hieroglyphics without extra fees.

What should I bring for a Luxor day trip?
