The hike is moderately demanding, involving a 3-hour ascent. Most of the path is wide, but the final 750 "Steps of Penitence" are steep stone stairs. If needed, Bedouin camel rentals are available at the base to carry you to the foot of the final steps.

Why is the pickup so early?

The drive from Sharm El Sheikh takes about 3 hours. We depart between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM to ensure you reach the summit by 4:30 AM. This gives you plenty of time to find a good spot for the breathtaking Sinai sunrise.

Is there a dress code for the Monastery?

Yes. St. Catherine Monastery is a holy UNESCO site. Shoulders and knees must be covered. Tip: It’s freezing at the summit (around 0°C), so layer up with warm clothes and use a scarf to cover up when entering the monastery later.

What are the "Must-Bring" items?
